Our hands tend to be the first place to show signs of aging and sun damage, and are often neglected when it comes to skincare. The constant hand washing and sanitizing as of late(ugh 2020) is also brutal on skin and cuticles. I’ve been doing little quick treatments on my hands for years, especially during the winter months when my hands get super dry.
The left is my hand before my little hand facial, looking like the chapped hand of a 100 year old woman. The right is the after.
Just after showering when skin is warm and clean, I do a deep manual exfoliation. This time since it’s freezing outside, I used an oil based replenishing exfoliator. Just a nickel sized amount is enough for both hands, and I actually begin the scrubbing on dry skin for a deeper treatment. Rinse under warm to hot water and then moisturize with a hydrating anti-aging cream. My fave to use for this is the original cream from La Mer, which I often get samples of when I buy other products;)
I have been using the Le Lift hand cream from Chanel daily, which I am loving. It has licorice extract to help with even tone and alfalfa extract which acts as a natural retinol. I use it every night and try to remember to use it during the day at least once. It’s small enough to keep in your purse, which is super convenient!
Of course, I try to remember to put sunscreen on my hands every single day after I apply it to my faces well!
