The New Year always makes me want to simplify my routine and be gentle with myself after the fuss of the holiday season. The weather snaps here in Florida combined with extra salty and sweet treats and glasses of champagne always make my skin look a little rough and dehydrated. I created this basic little look for the New Year, and I have been wearing it just about daily! I always crave simplicity and organization in January, and really all the time:)
I did simple prep of the skin, a lightweight hydrating serum packed with hyaluronic acid and skin loving ingredients and super hydrating lip balm. Shop here~
Then I mixed one pump of the Les Beiges foundation with the pearly glow drops(just mixed them together on the back of your hand or whatever!) and applied with a very damp beauty blender. I absolutely love the Beauty Blender. I was hesitant to try it at first as I have never been a sponge person, but it really is unique and gives the prettiest light airy finish. You want to get it just a titch more damp than you think you would need to, and then bounce it on the skin. See my IGTV video on instagram for more detail on this;)

Then I used a light rosy concealer under the eyes to brighten and as a shadow base. Just a sheer wash across the lid helps to even out tone and brighten the eye and give the shadow something to bond to. Using another product from the Les Beiges line as shadow and liner, I did the light sparkly peach on the inner half of the lid, the taupey brown shade on the outer part of the lid in a slight “v” with a tapered brush, and then the matte ivory on the brow bone. I used the soft matte black shadow in the palette as liner on a little brush, just on the top lash line smudged right into the lashes. Then defined brows with a few swipes of brow gel to set them and then defined and pampered the lashes with the faux cils longest lash mascara from Chantecaille. About every third or fourth time that I buy mascara, I switch to this one to care for my lashes. It has peptides to help with length and fullness and strength and it smells vaguely of garden roses(because rose oil is one of the ingredients!). I just feel like it’s much more gentle on the lashes than any other mascara as well. For my lips I used my signature “Boy” lipstick from Chanel, a your lips but better shade that never overwhelms my fair complexion. I like to work it into almost a gloss texture with a lip brush and then apply it…just an easy one step lip. I’m loving Westman Atelier’s lip brush as well, a must have!
