Family pics are precious memories, but can be surprisingly difficult. Especially with weather factors and squirming babies, human or otherwise;) Sharing just a few LM tips for getting beautiful effortless shots that your family will love to look back on for years to come<3

- Know your angles:) Don’t feel like every shot needs to be a big “say cheese” moment…just do what feels more organic to you.

2. Wear a bit more makeup than you normally would. Especially eye liner, mascara, brow and lip color. I almost always wear a rich black liner on the top lash line for any professional photos, as it thickens up the top lash line which helps to define the eyes. Mascara primer is a must here and it’s worth the extra step. I added a touch of color to my brows with a pencil and then defined them with my everyday brow gel, as brows frame the face. For lips one to two levels more color than you think you need is a good rule…I almost never wear gloss alone and opt instead for lipstick even for a more natural look.

3. Wear neutral colors and lean towards more classic styles, and styles that are more signature to you. Black and white both photograph beautifully, and give a nice clean aesthetic. I have always loved dresses, ruffles, and feminine details so that’s what I usually choose. Whatever your signature is, go with that as opposed to a new trend that you may look back on in a year and not be as into;)

I hope these tips help to take a bit of stress out of this sweet tradition and help you to get photos you actually want to share and look back on. Remember this is supposed to be fun!
